Dear everyone,

This Saturday will be our last meeting as Group Stephen. So dressed up "handsomely" and "beautifully" for this day - Awards Night.
As for now, I will open this blog for any member from Group Stephen to write in about their thoughts and feelings throughout the year. Just send in to me at khling@gmail.com or you have my msn , just msn me. When you have send me, I will post it here soonest possible.
So I will start with myself :

Hooi Ling says :
SO fast... one year already... I looked back all the posts and pictures throughout the year.
Some were still here... some were not. Some of you were so enthusiatics in beginning of the
year when we first started, but it was gone halfway. Some of you joined us half way, and
finished the race as group with us all the way. And many of you were faithful
from the beginning to the end. And that is what God wants us to be... FAITHFUL.
I am very thankful to each and everyone who has came, be it giving your time & energy to the group, or even just join in the fellowship with us. Everyone counts, every soul is important.
Even for 2008 and years to come, "...take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16" (Group verse)

This year I involved a lot in groups Stephen compare with previous year in group Titus. For what I think about this group, there are people who sacrifice a lot of time to coming and sacrifice strength by fetching member from different places, especially leader and other committee member. Really a wonderful group to stick together in group singing or do sketch. I have learned a lot in this group. Learn to cooperate with one another, make new friends, serving God, and the most things is continue come to church whenever there is a difficulty. There are happiness and sadness throughout this year but it already past. John Lian might not take care of me too much because I can be independent but anyways still want to say “Thank You” for become a committee and take care of me. “Hold The Line” is the main theme for these year and I able to do it. Really feel like missing one another but this is happened every year, group form and discard. Time past very fast and a big event is coming soon that is Christmas. Wish everyone have a wonderful and enjoyable day. STEPHEN!!!!

This year is one of the best group I had...
though it is sad to see the group to disperse at the end of the year. I admit that half a year I hadn't been with you guys all the way
but as long we have all grown in maturity and had build and strengthen our relationship, bringing in frens, then it was worth it for the whole year that we have run the race together and future too.

Haih, going to be the end of Stephen adi. I don’t know how to start this, but I’m truly glad to know all of you. I’ve known some of you even before this group (know as in really get to know, not just by name). Also there are many which I have known since I come church.
Being in this group taught me a lot of things, hope it does to you too. So here’s what I wanna say; To the commander: loh yuke bin... next year we will not be in the same group adi... thanks for sendiri tahan while i was M.I.A for few months. a bit cham for you la... starting i lari.. kekeke... but anyway, hope to see you continue to be strong in the Lord. and don't blur blur anymore la.....
To Wai Loon: same group with you again brings back a lot of old memories (am not that old only ar, don’t take this chance to kutuk), really encourage to see you grow and became what you are today. Next time when you wanna give comment/suggestion, please do not say “I dunno la, I think only la…” have some confidence man!
To John Lian: you can do much more, hope you will continue to burn for Christ
To Wai Chin: mrs loo… hehehe… this is the 2 or 3 time we same group ar? Forgot adi. Lol anyway, really thanks for taking care the refreshments and the many little things you did for the group. And hor, next time answer phone ler… call you very “xing ku”.. sob sob.
To Hooi Ling: kham khooi ling! I also no need say much, you know I know la… cuk.
To Michael: don’t just semangat for games… for the group you have to be semangat also wan. I know you can do so much more than this, and I will surely never forget the experience we shared as a group. Glad to know you more! =D
To Kimberly: this is the first time I same group with you. I know la some times I may be a bit harsh but it’s for the good of everything. You have so much strong qualities in you that we all have to learn. I can never have your confidence, continue to serve the Lord with all your heart ad I hope this year will be a good experience for your future use. (dunno whether you know what I mean or not. Haha…)
To Kayson: oikze! First year same group with you, the first thing that comes into my mind is “oh.. we got a sports person”. But later on when work with you and get to know you, you’re so funny la! Always have to remember, winning is not very important… fellowship is… so chill dude. I like your commitment and willingness to listen to us. You never complaint (sometimes la maybe) when we ask you to do things and you are always helping us in whatever ways you can. Hope to be same group with you again and see you grow.

Okla… I do not have the space to say so much (although I already did) but to all the members in group Stephen. Hope you will never forget about this group, I know I won’t. when new group comes, all of us will be separated, maybe some will still same gp but just an encouragement for all of you that no matter which group we are in, we can always count on each other as bros and sis in Christ. Hope this year is not just another group for you but a Super Exiting year as Stephen, and hope all of you will bring forward the things you have learnt this year to pass on to others (please not the bad stuff ar).

It has been a hell of a ride with you Stephens. I enjoyed the times and moments spent with you all, even when we lost a game or match. I'm happy I had that moments with you all by my side. Though it has to come to an end where we are separated from each other, but let the Stephen always live in us. Fight off the evil that has been raining on us like arrows, let God's spirit be the shield we all need to live our lives. So, take care Stephens, for the time is near, prepare yourselves and wait on our Holy God with hope and faith.
When we turn and go to our new groups, reflect back on the times we had with each other. The glorious times like when we win street captainball, the amazing race finale, the painful times during the camp reunion games, every injury or scratch we get from everything we fight for, and even remember the times when we are trashed by other groups in the last water war or... well only that we lost terribly. haha But take it home and to your next groups, make it better. Like what Yuke Bin always tells us, it isn't the winning matter but the winning of relationships. Relationships that we must have among brothers and sisters in Christ so we may sustain each other from falling. All in all, Gosh!! I love ya all man. =)

Dear all members of Group Stephen,

Firstly I need to thanks all the leader who has been patience with me with all the mistake I’ve done.
To be honest, my eyes are in watery condition where tears almost drop from my face when I write this. I’m so touch to see how the group members actually have grow and benefit in Group Stephen. This is my first year become a commander. I really do not know what to do all the time but just depending on God. Remember that is not me or Ee May or even the rest of the leader are leading you all, is actually God Himself that is leading this group.

I do start to have a feeling that I’ll miss you all since beginning of November. Group Stephen is a group ill never forget because I can confidently say to God that it was a good year that we all grow together. Is not about win or lose but how we become a better and more mature Christian.

There is not enough thank you that I can say to God when I know that my members did grow and learn in Group Stephen. There is nothing else can replace this feeling and is the best Christmas gift I ever have to know you all have grown up(sound like I’m so old..haha)

No matter what group we are in. we got to see ourselves as PYP. For we are united wherever we go. For wherever we go, the mamak stall tables always need to combine. Now we have grow in number, but we got to grow in quality too!!

Huge and tiny people came together to form group stephen and it once again proved that everyone has a role in God's plan! Group Stephen gave me one of my best experience in life. Facing new challenges as a committee for the first time and meeting new people in the group. Yes may may winning is not everything and i'm glad i've come to understand that =)

I extend out gratitude for my leaders in group Stephen.
Thank you all for all the sweat and work you put for the group, i really appreciate it.
Especially yuke bin who has the dedication and such will to fight,
i wish you all the best for the future as you continue to touch more lives.

Wei wei wei, cool members do this group have. really enjoyed my time being around them. they are just so adorable! glad to see some of them growing termedously spiritually. nothing beats the happiness of serving god together which i get to do with this lovely bunch of members.

hmm~~this group has come to an end~~dunno how to start~~this isn't like writing essay in school~~when writing essay, v can jz simply make up stories~~but writing this is like writing a, erm~~love letter~~lolto be honest, i was so enjoyed in Silas till i found it hard to adapt myself in a new group~~the moment i knew that yuke hin had picked me as member, i was~~err~~sad~~cuz to be honest, i din wanna follow yuke bin at 1st~~but there was nothing i could do~~i dun deny that i doubted yuke bin's ability to be the commander n lead the group~but time has proven that he is capable n much more better that wat i thought~~his effort pays off when the unity among the all the stephens had started to be built~~n the unity is so obvious to be seen~~yuke bin, you have done a great job~~being in a new group is nvr ez to me cuz im loyal(hehe), i love to stick to the old thing that im used to~~as i have mentioned, i found it hard to accept n adapt myself in group stephen at 1st, but as the feeling of being a part of stephen family, i have started to love this group~~n i have learned that im no longer a little girl that always cry whenever i dun get wat i want~~i must have confidence in yuke bin n of course the other leaders~~same like Silas, we were weak at the beginning~~we lost in many games at the beginning, but at the end, we became strong~~this happened to group stephen this year~~yes, i did felt lonely at the beginning cuz i couldnt be in the same group with my close frens in church~~but i rili have to give a big thank you to the leaders especialy hooi ling n wai chin for always take care of me~~i could feel it~~but im so sorry that for the last 3 weeks i couldnt fight/be with u all as i was bz working~~it seems that work has drawn me away from group stephen n church~but i promise that i will be there for awards night~~n i wil try to avoid getting part time jobs during sat~~erm~~dunno wat to say anymore, so i jz end this 'letter' with 4 words I LOVE GROUP STEPHEN!!p/s: STEPHEN FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

Group Stephen, gave me a new experience of my Christian life. I have lost the feeling of fellowship few years ago. When all my seniors left the fellowship, some went to overseas to study, some went to youth. Leave me to take over the responsibility. I trying to bring back what had lost, God knows it. That’s why He gave me a chance, to join PY.
I joined PY since the youth camp. Thanks to Winnie who brought me to the camp, thanks to my Heavenly Father, He put me here to learn new things. A brand new experience of fellowship, programs, all these really make me learn a lot of things.
I am so glad to know all of you, Stephens. For you have given me a lot of good memories.

Time passes so fast. There comes the end for Group Stephen. I started to feel sad and 'mm seh dak' to leave Group Stephen. Although I joined Petra's camp few years already, but this year is the first year I am so active in my own group.I believe God is the one who brings me to join you all this year and I would like to thank him for bringing me to know all of you. Throughout this whole year, I learned a lot of thing and I gain back a lot of thing. I learned how to control myself to be a good example for the young one, I learned winning is not the most important thing in a game, I learned how to give but not requesting to take anything back, I learned how to love each other, and many more. The most important is I gain a lot of brothers and sisters. I feel so touched that i see a big group of people who love each other so much and take care of each other. It is so hard to find a faithful friend after I come out to work, but I found a lot from Petra. Group Stephen gave me a lot of nice and memorable memory. Group Stephen makes me realize the love from Petra and make me put in a lot of effort to ask for holiday during saturday. Now coming to church every saturday is already in my schedule. I am really glad to be in Group Stephen. Although Group Stephen is going to end soon, but our love to each others will still be there and we will bring our love to other groups and spread to other brothers and sisters. Group Stephen will always in our heart.

Thanks so much to all who helped out in the carnival- Pui Mun, our leng lui leong fun and kok fa mui, Suet Ling , Iris and Wing who have been with us the entire week helping out with the glass deco and helping us to buy and sell things on that day. Thanks to Amy, Natalie and her team for the creative effort set of glass deco and curry chicken from her mom. Never forget Adrian, our hardworking artist throughout the whole week and our bartender on that day.

Group Stephen went bowling for the first time! Divided into 4 teams, each player showed flair, teamwork and determination! Young and old competed. Boys and girls competed. Mentors, commanders and members competed. However, it is the relationship and fellowship that had been strengthen within the group. You'll never know you can bowl if you don't try for the first time. It was a new experience for majority of group stephen as shown in the video above. It was certainly a fun and memorable day for group stephen! Group Stephen lives on forever in our heart!

Here are the details if any one of you missed the briefing last Sunday.

The trip to Gohtong Jaya:
a. Check in time 1.30-4.30pm
b. A counter will set up at the Reception area of the Service Apartment.
Please collect your access card and camp booklet at the PGC Family
Camp Registration Counter.
c. In case you arrive late, please call Yee Ling (012 623 1229) or
Lydia (012 335 0157).
d. Drivers, please make your own arrangement with your passengers.
e. Drivers may obtain the map from Vincent Fung.
f. The trip to Gohtong Jaya from church should take about 45 min -1 hour.
g. The introduction of the Camp Site and other camp briefing will be made
before dinner served.

Meals :
a. The resort is providing Lunch (Sun-Mon) & Dinner(Sat-Mon).
b. Breakfast will be provided by PGC Family Camp Committees.
c. Tea time & Night Cap : Assorted biscuits & 3-in-1 drinks.
d. There are electric kettle and fridge provided in the apartment's kitchen.

Worships : Kindly take note that Sunday morning is a worship session,
please be properly attired.

Afternoon Free & Easy Program :
a. Person-in-charge : Vincent, Yee Ling & Barry.
b. Free & easy basis, you may make your own tour arrangement.
c. There will be Shutter Van service from Camp site to Genting cable car station
on Monday afternoon.

Who is LIANG?

Liang- 8oz of Soul Liang's passion for music began in HELP Institute where he joined 6-man acapella group Legato, performing at various college functions & events. Legato has even had the privilege to work with critically acclaimed drummer Lewis Pragasam, performing with him at the Kiara Jazz Festival. Liang doesn't just sing but also plays the bass, the guitar and the piano.Liang's new mini-album “8oz of Soul” is a fun hip-hop album with a mix of both fast and soulful numbers - all written by Liang himself, some in collaboration with other talents. The first single “Show Me Whatcha Got” is a laid back groove track about how people aren't always upfront with others. Another track to look out for is “The Feature” in which Liang collaborates with James Baum of “Skirts” fame. The EP also contains the track “Silver Linings” that can be found on Oops! Asia 's tsunami-relief compilation “Through The Rain”. “Silver Linings” has already received good listener response on Xfresh FM hitting number 1 on the Xfresh FM 10 & Carta 20 charts. We definitely had a good time playing "masak-masak" last Saturday... :P
It was such a long process for most of our dishes, we would not be
able to make it on time if we were not working as a team.

After Petra can wok, surely many of you already know how to make "tong yun". :)
Wing : always at the sink helping us to wash vegetables
Sek Ling : shed tears while cutting onions, poor thing...
Suet Ling : now you know how to cut garlic and pepper :)
Hannah : always stand by to wash our plates and utensils
Davina : ever ready to lend a helping hand, you definitely help a lot

Just 2 days ago, we had our Amazing Race - Round 3,

and our standing also number 3. Many sweats(those who ran) and
injured(or maybe just yuke bin) for the sake of the group. The BEST part is
everyone always give their BEST to the group in one way or another.

Back to yuke bin, he stepped on a glass when he and other guys

were carrying out the STRENGTH task.

You can ask him for further details. So children, there's a lesson behind this,

must wear your shoe when you are outside the house ok?

This theme has been our mission and our goal throughout the 5 days
in camp. And the soldiers from GROUP STEPHEN has been successfully
holding on the line in every battle we are in...
Let us continue to HOLD THE LINE for God, forgetting what lies behind but
always keeping our eyes on our LORD JESUS.

And we will continue to be faithful to our calling because God is able
to keep us from falling. And in His promise, we trust that He will be faithful
to finish the work He has began in us.

We are transformed to give our lives to Him who gave His own.

Though against a million it may be,
BUT still we will keep on fighting and shout : " HOLD THE LINE!!"

Amazing Race round 2 was truly amazing and Group Stephen would like to specially thank all their members for putting up a superb and brave fight. Although Stephen did not complete this round's race faster than the other groups, Stephen had won a better relationship between its members. Group Stephen hardworking and dedicated members put on a magnificent performance on the battlefield once again by finishing 2nd place this time around. Stephen Makes You Go Crazy

On March 24th 2007, Group Stephen fiery members cheered passionately as their warriors battle against the other groups waltzing in a dodgeball battle. Stephen faced stiff competition right till the final second but managed to clinch a victory in today's battle. Great and excellent job to all Stephen members. Stephen is becoming stronger as a team and today's achievement will be a great boost of confidence to push them even harder in the future. May all who comes to Stephen becomes a Super Stephen.

Yuke Bin, Commander of Group Stephen, commented:
"Even though our group is small, but this is STEPHEN! We have our own stance. What we want to win is not merely points but it's the souls of people that we want to save. Let's do not be distracted too easily but focus on one another so that in the end we will help each other grow"

Stephen : The first martyr

Group Stephen

Our group was named after the first martyr, Stephen... "They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit;…Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people."

"While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep."

Stephen gave his life for Christ, he set an example before us as a true believer for Christ.
We believe the heartbeat of the mission to spread the good news is the love for Christ.

Stephen was full of courage and Holy Spirit who holds to a belief so strongly that he is willing to die for it. Such was the faith that Stephen had in Jesus Christ.

Our group verse: In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16

Amazing race! We make ourselves known in Timesquare and Berjaya Hotel! YAY!

Superman and supergirl running all over the mall and hotel, making noises and heavy footsteps, people stared at us as we ran passed them. No doubt we have all the attentions from the public! And some of them even cheer with us! After posing( as you can see from pic above) at McDonalds, taking pictures with cashiers although some of them refused but we insisted anyway, checking prices for books and keychains, note down the movie listings at GSC and finally we need to search for Louis at Berjaya Hotel.

The winning team : Kiki, Kayson, Xian Perng, Hooi Ling. YAY!!!!

We all have a lot of fun and thanks to Adam and Louis for the planning of this mini race. :)

Chinese New Year Visitation..

And so we gathered in church at 9am... craving for breakfast, we went "mamaking" at Alim under the hot sun... "which means"... (hehe you know who la) :P ... we started quite late. Although we practically feel that we are sweating all over while enjoying our roti canai.. but it was fun ! ;) Thanks to Henri and Winnie and Kayson for opening their houses for us...
We even "lou sang" at Winnie's house prepared by her mom...
*Bloated* ... we all went back to church from Kayson's place.
